Course Description:
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Semester: 1/2 Credit
Prerequisite: None
This one-semester course instructs students in basic food preparation methods, skills and techniques allowing those completing the class to be able to prepare simple recipes on their own. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, cooking measurements and equivalents, kitchen safety, kitchen utensils and appliances, quick snacks, grains, quick breads, pies, salads, eggs, holiday baking and pizza. Students are required to follow standard foods worker sanitation guidelines.
