Course Description:

Grades:  9, 10, 11, 12
1 Semester: 1/2 Credit
Prerequisite:  None

This one-semester course instructs students in basic clothing construction skills. Topics and skills covered include,
but are not limited to, basic hand stitches, fabric construction, garment parts, sewing machine operation, using
sewing machines for such projects as a pillowcase, lounge pants and fleece garments. Students are required to
provide their own seam ripper, tape measure, pins, and needles in addition to any fabric/notions for class projects.
Approximate cost of materials and supplies for personal garments is $30-40.
